Why we started Talenpac

Prior to starting Talenpac, our founder Navin Muruga worked with a social enterprise in Central India. The organisation he worked with was on a mission to help rural farmers increase their household income by connecting them to India’s dairy market. It had raised over a million dollars in investment, were operating in a booming industry and had an innovative business model investors were raving about. Yet, the organisation struggled to scale because it did not have a strong management team in place to execute on it’s strategy. Poor financial management, hap hazard sales strategies and weak HR policies crippled it’s growth.

Through first hand experience, he learnt that organisations working to create change need more than just an innovative idea and funding to succeed. They need skilled human capital.

Our Leadership

Navin Muruga spent his early career as a recruitment consultant specialising in hiring experienced professionals for some of the world’s biggest brands. Jaded by a job that seemed purely focused on month-end sales targets, he decided to quit and volunteer abroad.

As a volunteer, he spent time in Sri Lanka where he provided business coaching to war widows, implemented clean water projects for the internally displaced in Kenya and built toilets in rural Cambodia. Navin’s experience as a volunteer inspired him to start MAD, a social enterprise that empowers everyday people to fundraise and volunteer on clean water projects. His work at MAD has impacted over 10,000 lives through the combined efforts of hundreds of volunteers and donors.

In 2016 as part of the Acumen fellowship program, he spent a year working with a social enterprise in Bhopal, India and experienced first hand the talent gap faced by growth stage social enterprises. He decided to combine his experience as a recruitment consultant with his experience working in the social impact sector to start Talenpac; a recruitment firm for purpose drive businesses.

Navin is an Acumen Global Fellow, a TEDx speaker and winner of the Entrepreneur for Good Award by the Arthur Guinness Fund.

We are remote

Talenpac recruits talent from across the globe for purpose driven organisations in Southeast Asia and East Africa. We operate as a fully remote business.

Unlike traditional recruitment firms, we do not specialise in industry, geography or function. Instead, we specialise in recruiting for a very specific type of employer – the purpose driven organisation.
